Our Support for Isaiah 41:10 Foundation

We proudly support the Isaiah 41:10 Foundation (www.isaiah4110.org), which brings courage and support to children battling pediatric cancer. This cause is close to my heart, inspired by the foundation's origins in honoring their son Sam, and it's our way of turning personal inspiration into hope for families everywhere. At Furry Hippie Beard Company, we believe in standing alongside organizations that make a real difference in the lives of kids facing life-threatening illnesses, and the Isaiah 41:10 Foundation does just that through faith, encouragement, and community outreach. Their work resonates with my own experiences, including the memory of my brother Chase, who battled DIPG, a rare childhood brain cancer, and passed away in 2012. While Chase's story is personal to me, the foundation's mission echoes the resilience and hope I strive to honor every day in my business. By aligning with them, we aim to spread awareness and contribute to a world where children and families find strength during difficult times.

Inspired by Sam

The Isaiah 41:10 Foundation was born from the remarkable story of Samuel Harmon, affectionately known as Sam. Diagnosed with leukemia as a young child, Sam found solace and strength in the Bible verse Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." He memorized this verse and shared it with everyone around him, from family to medical staff, becoming a beacon of faith and courage even in his toughest moments. Sam's deep love for God and his infectious positivity gave him the bravery to face each day, and he wanted others to know the source of his strength. Tragically, Sam passed away, but his parents founded the organization in his memory to continue his legacy of spreading encouragement through scripture and stories.

The foundation's mission is to share Sam's passion for the Lord and provide hope to children with life-threatening illnesses. They do this through initiatives like the "Buy a Book/Give a Book" program, where purchasing one of their children's books allows a complimentary copy to be donated to a sick child. These books, such as the Scooter series (Scooter and the Space Ants, Scooter and the Dark Forest, and Scooter and the Pirate Treasure), are adventure tales that Sam's dad told him and his brother during hospital stays. The stories not only entertain but also weave in themes of faith and perseverance, offering comfort to kids in similar situations. Additionally, the foundation raises funds for vital pediatric cancer research, partnering with hospitals and families to distribute resources that bring joy and spiritual support.

At Furry Hippie Beard Company, supporting this foundation feels like a natural extension of our values. Chase's battle with cancer left a lasting impact on my family, and seeing how the Isaiah 41:10 Foundation honors Sam's memory reminds me of the importance of community and hope. We encourage our customers to learn more about their work and consider ways to get involved, whether through reading the books or spreading awareness. Together, we can help more families find the strength they need during challenging times. Visit www.isaiah4110.org to explore their story and see how you can contribute.
